Have you heard about our text club??

Listen, we all know you're swamped. Adulting is a full-time job with zero benefits. But guess what? You still deserve some love and a little push to keep you slaying. You get to choose the frequency – weekly check-ins or a daily pep talk. We won't spam you, that's just bad manners. Ditch the struggle and get your self-care in bite-sized doses that won't add to your stress. You deserve it. Now go get it! ✨

who am I?

That's a FAIR question. So allow me to (re)introduce myself.

I'm Liz - wife and mom, and Blerd extraordinaire. I love watching and rewatching Marvel films, dancing along with Meg the Stallion, and reading spicy books.

More than anything, though, I love being there for Black women and marginalized genders.

A lot of time, we don't have the language to say that we're burnt out - we just know that shit is HARD. And it's especially hard for us right now in the face of our beautiful intersectionalities.

So I started this business to bring the fun back to self-care, the Blackness back to community, and the fun back to our lives.

I love you, and I want to see you thrive.

Self-Care for Leadership

July 17, 20242 min read

Leaders deserve self-care. YOU, especially.

Think of yourself as Wakanda's vibranium. You're strong, you're resilient, you can handle anything. But even the baddest superhero needs to recharge her shield, right? Self-care is like upgrading your operating system, boo. You gotta take some time to chill, reflect, and reboot so you can slay all day.

Here's the real tea: self-care ain't just bubble baths and face masks. It's about giving yourself space to breathe, like giving Ashley from "Fresh Prince" a moment to process Carlton's latest dance routine. It's about understanding your triggers, like figuring out what makes Olivia Pope pop off on "Scandal." When you take that time for yourself, girl, you gain perspective like you just unlocked a cheat code in life. Suddenly, that annoying co-worker ain't sweating you like Geoffrey on "The Fresh Prince," and that looming deadline feels less scary than Ghostface in a poorly lit hallway.

Plus, self-care makes you a way better friend, girlfriend, boss lady - the whole deal. You ain't out here radiating stressed-out Gemini vibes like Gina in those early "Martin" episodes. Nah, you glowing like Rainbow on "black-ish," ready to uplift your family and conquer the world. You have the patience of a saint (well, maybe not Mother Teresa level, but close enough, sis!), and the emotional intelligence to build strong connections that last longer than a well laid lacefront.

And honey, let's not even get started on work performance. You think self-care makes you lazy? Think again! When you're well-rested, focused, and feeling good, you become a workplace superhero. You tackle problems like Black Panther taking down bad guys, collaborate with colleagues smoother than Salt-N-Pepa dropping a hot beat, and leave everyone impressed with your skills. Watch out world, here comes the supercharged version of you!

So ditch the hustle mentality for a hot minute, Queen. Schedule some self-care time, even if it's just a few minutes a day to meditate like Yoda or binge-watch your fave Black girl magic show. Remember, self-care ain't a luxury, it's a necessity. You gotta fill your cup before you can pour into others, and when you do, girl, you'll be unstoppable!
